Sophie Wood-James, Commercial Manager
Within my role as Commercial Manager at Savient, I work closely with our clients to make sure we have the right contracts in place for our team to be able to deliver the software development that meets their business needs. I also support with business development activities to find new contracts to be put in place.
Having moved into the Tech industry a few years ago, I enjoy being part of our highly skilled, technically focused Savient team and the fast pace of working. As a people person, I enjoy building relationships with our clients and helping them to solve real world problems that have a major impact on their businesses and often critical missions. I also enjoy the variety that working for a growing SME brings as I am currently supporting one of our key client projects as Project Manager and Scrum Master where I get to work closely with our team to ensure we understand and are delivering the software engineering needed on time, within budget.
I also really enjoy supporting Savient’s proactive involvement in outreach activities – especially the school events encouraging more young people and particularly women into STEM careers. I have recently become an Enterprise Advisor for a local high school and STEM ambassador as well to deepen my involvement and I am grateful to be working for Savient sharing so many of my values and enabling me to achieve such incredible working life balance.
