The Worcestershire Apprenticeships hub celebrated their 8th annual awards on Thursday 17 November to recognise the exemplar efforts of all those involved in delivering and supporting apprenticeships in the county.
Over 300 attendees attended the 2022 Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards, which returned to a physical awards evening after going virtual in light of the COVID pandemic.
11 winners were crowned, with the highly coveted Worcestershire Apprentice of the year named as Georgina Davies from Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust, sponsored by Platform Housing Group, and Worcestershire Apprenticeship Employer of the Year announced as Redspeed International, sponsored by Heart of Worcestershire College.
Attendees had an entertaining and engaging evening thanks to the awards host, media entrepreneur, podcaster, writer and performer, Cally Beaton.
Cally Beaton, media entrepreneur, podcaster, writer and performer and host of the 2022 Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards, said: “Firstly, I would like to say a massive congratulations to all of the finalists and winners at this year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards.
“It was a pleasure to be able to host such a positive and passionate celebration event and I enjoyed every minute of it. Worcestershire should be extremely proud of all those involved in making apprenticeships a success for their ongoing dedication to promoting apprenticeships.”
The event was the 8th year of the awards organised by Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and Worcestershire County Council, who launched the Worcestershire Apprenticeships hub in 2014.
Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “It was a real privilege to be a part of the Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards, and I would like to congratulate all the winners and finalists.
“Each year we see more and more great examples of how the community across Worcestershire is embracing apprenticeships as a viable career path and I look forward to continuing this work into 2023 and beyond.”
Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy and Skills said: “Congratulations to all the winners and finalists from this year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards. It was fantastic to see all your hard work and dedication being recognised and rewarded.
“This year’s awards were yet another example of how apprenticeships are helping people and employers across Worcestershire to grow and succeed.”
