Fran Woodward, Chief Operating Officer
Good Energy is a renewable energy company based in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
It supplies customers with power from a UK network of 2,000 independent generators such as wind farms, solar farms and hydroelectric projects, helps more than 180,000 homes and businesses generate their own clean power, and installs heat pumps and solar panels too.
Fran joined the company in 2014 as director of people and culture and progressed to chief operating officer in 2020 before also becoming a member of the Board last year.
She is responsible for customer operations, energy services operations, sales, marketing and people & culture functions, and has more than 20 years of leadership experience from a breadth of organisations including Marks & Spencer, Coca-Cola, Dyson and EDF.
Fran ensures Good Energy’s values of fairness, straightforwardness, inclusion and focus are at the heart of the company’s culture.
She plays a vital role in driving the company’s strategy and its positive working environment. It’s been named as one of the UK’s best large employers, rising in the Best Companies League Table from 52nd in 2022 to 17th last year.
An impressive 93 per cent of staff would recommend working at the company, and 88 per cent say the company’s purpose makes them feel their job is important.
Fran is a graduate of Oxford University, a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a councillor for the CBI South West Regional Council, and a governor of Falmouth University.
