Optimising IT, award-winning managed IT services business, has announced a new board line-up following the recent appointment of James Cater and Charlie Haward as Non-Executive Directors. James and Charlie bring a wealth of experience, playing a crucial role in supporting business growth and ensuring it delivers on its core values of trust, simplicity and respect.
James joins Optimising IT alongside his role as CEO of Fraser Anti-Static Techniques, a leading international Manu-Tech company. With a background in sales, marketing and business development, James brings strategic insight to the board. In addition to his executive responsibilities, James serves as the Chair of the Exeter Initiative of Science and Technology (EXIST), Vice Chair of the Exeter Chamber of Commerce, and is a dedicated Business Mentor for Tech South West and SETsquared.

Charlie Haward is currently Service Desk Manager at Optimising IT, having been with the company since it was founded in 2013. In her new board position, Charlie will be focusing on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, a key priority as a certified B-Corp.
Charlie says: ““We’re proud to have achieved B Corp certification in 2023 and in my new Non-Executive Director role, I will be championing people and planet to ensure we continue to deliver on our ESG commitments.”
James and Charlie join the existing board of directors that includes Non-Executive Directors, Dan Taylor focusing on finance, Gary Smith founder of Optimising IT and Non-Executive Director focussing on strategic planning, client interactions, automation and business intelligence initiatives and Managing Director, Todd Gifford.
