Charles Russell Speechlys Partner Promotions 2025

Charles Russell Speechlys today announces the promotion of 11 individuals to Partner, effective 1 May 2025, in addition to 1 Counsel, 1 Legal Director and 15 Senior Associate promotions.

 

Commenting on the news, Bart Peerless, Senior Partner at Charles Russell Speechlys, said:

These promotions follow a year of sustained growth for the Firm. Since the last annual promotions update, the Firm has also made 17 senior lateral hires, with 10 of those being in its international offices.

The Firm’s office in Cheltenham is celebrating the promotion of dispute resolution lawyer Claudine Morgan to Partner and Briony Richards from the employment team is promoted to Senior Associate.

 

The news was welcomed by head of office Adrian Mayer who said:

“This is a fantastic endorsement of the talents of some of our leading lawyers here in Cheltenham. Their work, both in the county and, indeed, across the World plays a significant part in delivering a top-drawer service for our clients.”

 

Claudine Morgan – Dispute Resolution

Claudine works on a variety of commercial disputes. She acts for corporate and individual clients on a variety of commercial disputes destined for the High Court. Her work has a particular emphasis on contractual disputes, breach of fiduciary duties, shareholder duties, D&O claims, civil fraud, breach of warranty, professional negligence, sale of goods and supply of services, and misrepresentation. 

 

Briony Richards – Employment – UK

Briony provides day-to-day HR support and guidance to a variety of employers across a range of sectors such as fast-food, sport and healthcare. 

She represents both claimants and respondents on litigation in the Employment Tribunal, including claims relating to unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, equal pay and discrimination and has experience lodging appeals in the Employment Appeals Tribunal.  Briony also has experience in Data Subject Access Requests, preparing policies and staff handbooks, drafting contracts of employment and advising in relation to settlement agreements. 

With a background in mathematics and computing, Briony is highly numerate and can quickly grasp complex technical issues, while always remaining commercially minded.
