Event Overview and Leadership Month
We kicked off week one of Leadership Month with Culture and Engagement hearing from Martin Holmes, People Director at Creed Foodservice on Great Places to Work and then we heard from Laurie Bell, CEO at The Cheltenham Trust who talked about surviving and thriving in turulent times and the importance of entering awards.
Leadership Month comprises of four weeks of inspiring speakers and thought leadership throughout the month of March.

Speaker 1- Martin Holmes, People Director at Creed Foodservice
Creed Foodservice, are continually looking to create a great place to work, with great people. Passion, core values and a great customer experience are at the heart of their business.
Established in 1972, they are an ambitious family business within the foodservice industry. They deliver a great range of multi-temperature food products, including their own butchery and fresh ranges, to caterers across the country from our bases in Gloucestershire, Derbyshire, and Buckinghamshire.
Martin Holmes, People Director at Creed Foodservice Ltd, talked about the Creed journey and how they have been voted in the Top 100 large companies, Best Companies To Work For the UK, #29 in the South West Region, #52 in the East Midlands, #44 South East Region and #4 in Food and Drink Sector. Martin shared insights into how Creed have achieved this and bounced back after the devasting impact Covid had on their business. Martin gave us insights and ideas on how to engage your people and make a real difference.

speaker 2 – Laurie Bell, CEO at The Cheltenham Trust
Laurie Bell is the CEO of The Cheltenham Trust, the charitable organisation that that runs Cheltenham’s most iconic venues which includes The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham, Cheltenham Town Hall and Pittville Pump Room and the Prince of Wales Stadium.
Laurie joined the Trust from a senior leadership role at Wiltshire Council. Working with a range of stakeholders her immediate focus was delivering a shared vision, strategy and business plan that reflects the trust’s integral role in Cheltenham’s future.
Laurie talked about leadership and what it has taken to lead the Trust through turbulent times and how they have kept the engagement of their people and stakeholders.
