The first Pride Parade in over a decade came to Cheltenham at the weekend. The Pride Parade is the ultimate expression of pride and exclusivity.
The theme this year is TRANScend Boundaries, “Our theme of TRANScend Boundaries is a call to action for all of us to challenge the status quo and push for a world that is more accepting, inclusive, and affirming of trans individuals. By taking a stand and marching with us at Cheltenham Pride, we can show our trans community that they are seen, heard, and valued, and that we are committed to creating a better future for all.”
Suzanne and Angela joined the parade which was led by a Samba band through the town to Imperial Gardens, for a festival organised by Pride in Gloucestershire. There were stalls, a funfair, events and a performance by Cheltenham’s Drag Race contestant Copper Topp amongst others.
It was great to see members supporting the event; National Star and Cheltenham Festivals, sponsors Spirax Sarco; St James’ Place and Hooray Recruitment.
The day finished at Deya Brewery for a party and special screening of the Eurovision Song Contest hosted by local drag queen Greta Grip.
Even the C2S dogs got involved to celebrate Pride 2023!
