C2S Supporting the Big Sleep Out 2025

The C2S team were proud and delighted to support the Caring for Communities and People Big Sleep out again this year. Not only did we sleep out rough, but we slept in the woods with only a small piece of tarpaulin to protect us from the wind and rain – only what many homeless people have to contend with night in and night out!

We were proud and delighted to be at the top of the fund-raising leader board this year and thank all our generous supporters and donators – we really appreciated your generosity and support in these tough times!

Caring for communities and people is an outstanding charity and Cordell, Daniel and the team do the most amazing job supporting vulnerable people.

Great to see so many C2S members involved again this year and a big shout out to Wagada Digital and Hewer for collaborating with CCP on heating the Chelt Pods, their latest innovation to getting people of the street.

If you would like to read out their impact report or find out how you can get involved, please get in touch with Daniel- Daniel.Chun@ccp.org.uk or check out their website: https://www.ccp.org.uk/

Here’s a few more photos from the night and a few words from CCP.

Few Words of Thanks from CCP

Dear Big Sleep Out 2025 Volunteers (including friends who weren’t ultimately able to make it on the night)

Shivering in a sleeping bag might feel like a distant memory in this mini ‘heatwave’, but just a few nights ago, we were all part of something truly special. While memories of the discomfort may fade, I hope the insight you gained endures.

We never claim that taking part in our Big Sleep Out replicates the reality of homelessness — it doesn’t. But it is a powerful conversation starter. It’s a chance to give up some of the creature comforts we often take for granted and gain a glimpse into someone else’s daily reality. I hope you’ve taken away meaningful personal insights, and that together we feel galvanised by our shared experience and united in our commitment to end homelessness.

Alongside the challenging moments, there were joyful ones too — captured beautifully by Thousand Word Media. Antony and the team have generously supported several of our Sleep Outs (and many of your own events too), and their photos are superb at capturing the key moments and mood. If you’re ever in need of a photographer, we wholeheartedly recommend them.  I encourage you to share the photos widely to keep the conversation going.

Active fundraising total now sits just shy of £20,000 — including Gift Aid and offline donations. In what is an especially tough climate for fundraising, this is an extraordinary achievement. We are deeply grateful to each and every one of you for your energy, creativity, and perseverance in reaching this milestone. We know how hard it can be to make the ask of your networks amidst so many competing causes — your efforts are witnessed, acknowledged and appreciated.

We’ll be in touch soon with updates on how your donations are being put to work. Our overarching ambition remains to raise £100,000, and we’ll continue campaigning and collaborating across sectors to get there. If you can help spark more of these conversations, we’d love to hear from you.

By taking part in the CCP Big Sleep Out, you’ve joined a growing alumni of people who’ve made a clear stand against homelessness. Let’s turn that one night into a year-round movement. Ending homelessness in Cheltenham — as a starting point — is within reach. With your support, we will get there.

With heartfelt thanks,

Daniel Chun
