Mortgage and insurance specialist, The Finance Roome, celebrates its 15th birthday this month. Set up by Ellen Roome from her spare bedroom in 2006, The Finance Roome is now a multi award-winning financial services business with 13 staff located in offices at Gloucestershire Airport.
Ellen’s drive to create a highly accredited financial services business has paid off. Supported by a team of 6 advisers and skilled and knowledgeable admin staff, the business deals with hundreds of clients each month and has an envious reputation for excellent customer service.
In 2020 the company was nominated for, and declared one of the winners, in the mortgage advisers’ category of the ESTAS customer service awards – the largest customer review platform and award scheme for estate & letting agents, property lawyers, & mortgage advisors in the UK.
Ellen has dealt with most scenarios during her 23 years in financial services and loves a challenge. The business provides both mortgages and insurance products for private individuals and businesses, from multi-million pound property portfolios to first time buyers. The team has access to hundreds of lenders and insurance providers from mainstream names such as Halifax, Barclays and Santander to unusual lenders such as Swansea Building Society or Market Harborough.
“We believe communication is key to great customer service,” says Ellen. “When you deal with a bank, you’re often just a number. Every one of our clients has their own personal adviser who knows their situation inside out. How can you offer financial advice without understanding what your client really needs?”
