Crowe property conference will focus on repurposing High Street and commercial property for today’s world

A major regional conference will examine the changing usage of business property post-COVID-19 pandemic and the growth of hybrid working.

National audit, tax, advisory and risk firm Crowe is set to address the issues facing the construction, development, retail, leisure, and hospitality sectors at a half-day conference to be held at the Sixways Conference Centre on Tuesday 7 March 2023.

Delegates attending will hear from Crowe partners and guest speaker Simon Tothill, property & development director of Robert Hitchens, the long-established, family owned property company headquartered at Boddington, near Cheltenham.

Crowe’s national head of real estate Caroline Fleet will set the scene, discussing the findings of Crowe’s Real Estate Survey and the issues facing the property industry in the year ahead.

Tax issues and potential solutions will be the subject of tax partner Nick Latimer’s briefing, and Malcolm Kerr, managing director of the global hotel, tourism and leisure consultancy Horwath HTL, will discuss the challenges facing this sector. There will also be a review of property financing opportunities in an increased interest rate environment.

Nick Latimer said: “Central to our discussions will be the repurposing of real estate to make it fit for today’s world, including the specific challenges faced by larger developments.

“In challenging times our high streets need to be brought back to life. Many buildings need to be repurposed, and hospitality and leisure businesses need to adapt.

“There is a lot going on in the property world, and this half-day conference aims to tackle the challenges.”

The conference is free to property investors, developers and advisors, and finance officers from hospitality, high street retail, and construction companies.
