About The Panel:
This session included Q & A, discussion, debate and interaction. We heard from the panel about their culture & People journey, how the last 12 months has been for them and what has been important to them and their people. The challenges, ups and downs and what next look like for them.
Martin Hughes – CEO Lilian Faithfull Care, representing the care sector.
Lilian Faithfull Care is a successful care service that runs 5 care homes in Gloucestershire and looks after over 300 elderly people. This has been a hugely challenging time for the care sector and they started to shut the homes down in February to protect everyone, a difficult time to manage residents, their friends and families, their people and their families . Clarity of purpose and communication was the top priority for Martin and setting the standard. Resilience, honesty and transparency have been fundamental to keeping the team strong and informed. They introduced a support mechanism for both residents and their people and have worked hard to maintain their open culture and managed to have some fun with residents during lockdown. Lilian Faithfull are proud that they were the first care home to get their residents vaccinated and have completed their full vaccination programme to protect their residents.

Rachel Harber ,Director HR Re Solutions, part of Re Resource Group
Rachel shared with us what she has been seeing in her industry and what they have been doing internally. Their mantra of the business is…….. ‘Expect More’ and this has been at the core of everything they have been doing. They are 80 people in house, but 2000 temp workers out across the UK and this has been challenging to manage the culture and requirements of all these organisations during COVID. They have introduced many new initiatives to support their people and Rachal shared with us some of these ideas and their COVID vaccination policy.

Martin Holmes – Managing Director Creed Foodservice
Creedfoodservice is a family business, food wholesale and distribution service that provides kitchens with food ingredients. This covers a wide range of sectors to include: hospitality, education, hotels, National Trust and many more….. Pre pandemice they employed over 400 people and operated nationally. Martin talked about their ambition to achieve the top 100 list of best places to work in the UK, so 6 years ago they embarked on their transformational journey and put in place a structure to achieve this. In 2019 they were recognised on the Sunday Times list, Best Places to Work in the UK , great achievement and they had all worked so hard to reach their goal. Then the pandemic hit, hear more from Martin as he talks about becoming ‘Match Fit’ and what happened next…………………
