Many thanks to all of the C2S Members and guests that joined us at our annual C2S Day at Cheltenham Cricket Festival – our 8th year at the Festival with a full house of over 150 people. And we were blessed with the weather!
Well done to Gloucestershire County Cricket Club for a great day and it was good to hear from GCCC CEO Will Brown.
Our charity partner was Lilian Faithfull Care and we heard from their new CEO Kevin Snowball about all of the wonderful things the charity does to support older people. Lilian Faithfull Care is a charity and they are in care for the right reasons, not for profit, and through their ‘Home for Life’ pledge, they will never ask a resident to leave their homes for financial reasons. They were established in 1946 by their namesake, Lilian Faithfull and have remained true to the founding principles of the charity; “a desire to improve the lives of others through care and dedication.”
To keep their pledge they need to raise £1.5m per year.
Thank you to everyone that contributed to the Envelop Draw and Raffle, raising an amazing £2116 for Lilian Faithfull. They are very grateful and have said the money will go towards a sensory garden at their new dementia wing development at Royal Court Care Home.
