Hamper Scamper

Share the magic this festive season

Hamper Scamper is one of the South West’s most impactful food and gift appeal aimed at helping households who are likely to struggle during the festive season. Every donation, big or small, will help us towards easing the financial burden of Christmas, or making sure a child has a gift to open on Christmas Day.

In 2023, through your support we distributed 2,049 hampers and fulfilled 1,970 children’s gift wishes, for 65 different charities, schools, agencies and services who needed our support

In 2024, we are expecting at least as many, if not more, referrals.

We have seen a huge increase in demand from our community due to the persistent and worsening cost of living crisis, so we need you more than ever.

Hamper Scamper is entirely donation led; the more you pledge the more families and children we can reach.

The Festive Five (Hamper Scamper Shopping List)

A festive dessert – from Christmas cake to Christmas pud, Yule be adding a sweet treat to your shopping basket.

Tasty biscuits or mince pies – whether you are team mince pies or team choccy biscuits, these little treats are the perfect way to celebrate the festive season.

Chocolates – December may be the only time of year when chocolate for breakfast is acceptable! Share your favourites and add a box to your shopping trolley!

Savoury snacks – sometimes it’s nice to break up the sweetness with something savoury. Now where did we put that tube of Pringles…?

Hot drinks – like a hug in a mug, you can’t go wrong with a warming cup of hot chocolate, coffee or fancy tea.

(Only the items on this list will be included in our hampers. Any additional items donated will go to our Community Pantry. This year, we’ve updated the list based on feedback from our recipients to add a bit of Christmas sparkle and to make packing easier for our volunteers.

Food items donated need to be in date until 26 December. Out of date items cannot be accepted.)
