About the role…
As a Disabled Facilities Grants Officer, you'll play a key role in transforming the lives of vulnerable residents by overseeing the full lifecycle of disabled facilities grants and other housing adaptations.

You’ll manage the entire process, from application through to completion, ensuring compliance with legislation and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Your role will involve working closely with a variety of stakeholders, including contractors, occupational therapists, and applicants, to ensure smooth project delivery.

You’ll be at the heart of the action, providing expert guidance and driving cost-effective solutions that deliver maximum value for money.

With a strong focus on exceptional customer service and effective project management, you’ll make a real difference in improving accessibility in people’s homes, ensuring that each grant meets the unique needs of every applicant.

Interviews will be held in-person week commencing 5th May, 2025.

About the role…
We’re looking for a Planning Enforcement and Compliance Support Officer to join our planning team and play a key role in supporting the enforcement and compliance functions that protect and enhance our borough.

Your Role:
As part of the enforcement team, you’ll:
- Be the first point of contact for enquiries, ensuring smooth workflow management.
- Support the delivery of routine service requests and provide vital administrative assistance.
- Handle customer enquiries, resolving issues or escalating them when needed.
- Conduct site visits, taking measurements and gathering data to support live casework.

As a Building Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the council’s diverse property portfolio. Your expertise will ensure that our buildings remain safe, functional, and well-preserved for generations to come.

Your Responsibilities:
- Ensure building work complies with council regulations, codes of conduct, and financial policies while maintaining health and safety standards.
- Manage reactive and planned maintenance projects, ensuring contractor compliance, procurement regulations, and cost scrutiny.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, leaseholders, service managers, and stakeholders.
- Identify the need for specialist contractors and propose process improvements to enhance value for money in building services.

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Building Surveying or a construction/property-related subject.
- A relevant technical or professional qualification (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) or be working towards one.
