We are looking for a Team Leader, to join our other team leaders to support young people with some behaviours which may challenge within our service. For this position, you will need to have experience.

The role of a Team Leader at First Thought include (but not limited to):

  • Day-to-day running of the service
  • Medication management
  • Support staff to deliver the best service that they are able to
  • Supervisions and appraisals of support staff
  • Careplanning and PBS planning
  • Updating Risk Assessments
  • Incident management / support
 
We are looking for people who have a caring nature and want to make a difference with our services users. The role comes with its own responsibilities, so it is paramount that you understand the importance of this and that every day is different so you will need to be flexible in your approach.

Who we are:

We are confident in being able to say, that we really are a service like no other. Set up in 2020, by Jack who himself was sectioned as a child and lived within a broken system he decided to make the difference, that he himself so desperately needed.

Within our 32 converted property, on Hucclecote Road (Gloucester), we are all based on site. Our middle floor is our education centre, delivering education to the majority of those that we support. On this floor, we have a cinema room, games room, art rooms, recording studio, music room and so much more. On our top floor, this is our respite and residential floor. This floor is split, the Forest side (for Challenging behaviour and Learning Disabilities) and The Lakes side (for mental health and autism). Being a support worker with us, you will work across all of these, enabling everyday to really be different!

Within First Thought Care Services our services include:

The Pay Spiel:

We can offer you a full time contract, on a competitive starting salary of £32,500 per year with an overtime rate of £13.95 per hour. Sleep-in rate is at £70.00 per sleep shift.

Your core hours shall be 3 long days and 2 sleep-ins (rota to suit you).

Therefore, per year, based on 2 sleep-ins a week, and a 36 hour contract, you shall earn £32,926.40!! (And this is without any overtime at all).

We also pay enhancements based on any relevant NVQ's that you may hold. This enhancement can be up to an additional £0.30p per hour.

On-site, there is always a team leader running the shift. You shall join a team of other team leaders, and manage your own core team. You shall work Full time, 36 day hours per week, and 2 sleep-ins are in addition to this.

You will have access to use our company cars while on shift, statutory sick pay, we also run an employee of the month scheme, where each month the successful employee selects a random envelope which will contain a lovely surprise.
