Position:
You will be a key player in the project development process, responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of construction projects. Your work will be crucial in securing contracts and ensuring the financial success of our projects.
Role Overview:
As a Estimator at Markey Construction, you will be a key player in the project development process, responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of construction projects. Key Responsibilities:
Analyse tender documents, specifications, and drawings to compile detailed cost estimates.
Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information.
Prepare and present clear, detailed estimates to clients and senior management.
Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Track project costs during construction to monitor budget compliance and adjust estimates as necessary.
Assist in negotiating contracts with clients and subcontractors.
Maintain and update pricing databases to reflect market trends and conditions.
Participate in project reviews to assess estimating accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
A depth of experience in construction estimating
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ConQuest, Causeway, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A valid UK driving licence.
Other information:
Our roles are full time, Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week, 8:30am-5pm.

£12 per hour Housekeeper

Here at Student Digs, we aim to take all of the fuss out of private accommodation. We develop properties with modern students in mind. As part of the Markey Group, we are a long established family business, and have become Gloucestershire's largest independent provider of student accommodation.
Position:
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and shared spaces within the property. The primary duties include washing linen, disposing of waste properly and organising rooms ensure that the daily visual of the property is a clean and tidy place, ensuring that all occupants of the properties are in receipt of common spaces in good order. To be observant of any maintenance or hazards within common spaces and react to issues as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To prepare all guest rooms as required at Spa Ct to the agreed standards, ensuring cleanliness of surfaces, kitchen facilities, bathrooms and linens are managed to expectation. Bed linens are to washed and prepared for next use as per the agreed standard and keep in good order.
Clean communal spaces of shared use to include floors, walls, windows but not be exclusive omitting other surface area, including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
To update the Property & Customer Service manager regarding cleaning stock levels at the property, condition of equipment and any appliance faults.
Vacuums, empties trash, and replaces bins liners (property dependent, whether for general waste or recycling facilities).
To report any visible maintenance and breakages to the Property Facilitator for them to arrange resolution
Monitors and maintains sanitation and organization of assigned areas.
Performs additional duties as needed.
Assist at other properties as and when required during the year, working within the timescales given by the Property & Customer Service manager.
Requirements:
What We’re Looking For:
Ideally experience in Housekeeping (will be trained fully).
Good knowledge of Health and Safety
Other information:
The role is available on a part-time basis, Monday to Friday (25hrs per week). There is also a potential need for cover on the weekend. This role will cover the Cheltenham area (Cheltenham Town Centre), but there is the potential need for cover in Gloucester properties during the summer months.
We are offering a salary of £12ph.

Are you a multi-skilled Maintenance Assistant with a knack for getting the job done to a high standard? We're looking for a hands on person to ensure our properties are in tip-top condition and running smoothly!
Your responsibilities:
Assist with repairs and project work
Handle all maintenance tasks and stock management
Ensure compliance with property contracts and safety standards
Conduct building checks and report defects affecting security, health, and safety
Perform monthly and annual maintenance checks and meter readings
Escort and assist external contractors on-site
Be a key holder for properties between Gloucester and Cheltenham
Requirements:
What We’re Looking For:
Multi-skilled expertise in basic carpentry, DIY, plumbing, and electricals (leak resolution, light bulb changing, checking fuse boards, etc)
Experience in property maintenance and grounds upkeep
Knowledge of fire procedures and alarm systems
