About this Role:
The Milestone School is part of SAND Academies Trust and is an outstanding school for pupils with a range of special needs, aged 3-16, based in Gloucester.
The Role:
We are looking to appoint Casual Learning Partners to join our bank of supply staff. The successful applicants should have a passion for working with pupils who have special educational needs and disabilities, which include severe learning difficulties; physical difficulties; profound and multiple learning difficulties; severe autism and challenging behaviours. The main purpose of the Learning Partner is to support teaching and learning within classes.
Supply staff are usually contacted by text from 7.15am to check if available to cover staff absences that day.
If booked, Casual Learning Partners will be required to work between the hours of 9.15am and 3.15pm term time only and will be able to claim a maximum daily total of 5.5 hours per day (staff receive a 30-minute unpaid lunch break).
Supply staff are required to always bring in swimming kit and must be prepared to assist pupils in the swimming pool.

SAND Academies Trust seeks a non-executive director/trustee to join a strong board supporting a relatively new MultiAcademy Trust in Gloucestershire. The Trust currently consists of five schools: 4 special schools and 1 mainstream primary school.
We seek new trustees with the ability to work effectively as part of the trust board and able to build positive relationships with the Executive Leadership team.
Time Commitment:
You will be expected to attend 6 board meetings a year along with a commitment to join one of our committees: Audit & Risk, Finance & Resources, Quality of Education. In addition to this, there would be ad hoc representation of the board at our schools and with external bodies.
Skills/Expertise:
We are looking for strategic thinkers with proven experience of helping move organisations forward. We are especially keen to hear from individuals with a background in HR, Education (special), IT.
Term of office:
Appointment to the trust board is initially for a period of 4 years and this can be renewed.

SAND Academies Trust seeks members to join their Local Advisory Boards (LABs) – there are currently vacancies in our schools in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Cirencester. Please note that this is a voluntary role.
We seek new LAB members with the ability to work effectively as part of a team, focusing on the quality of education and enhancement of life skills for the children and young people in the school and be able to build positive relationships with the school leadership team.
Time Commitment:
You will be expected to attend 6 LAB meetings a year. In addition to this, you would be expected to carry out monitoring visits at the school at least 3 times a year and there would be ad hoc representation of the LAB with external bodies and on panels.
Skills/Expertise:
We are looking for strategic thinkers to support the school leaders who are responsible for the operational running of the school. We would like to hear from any individual who has the time and enthusiasm to give to this role and specifically those individuals who have knowledge of the local communities or expertise in safeguarding.
Term of office:
Appointment to the LAB is initially for a period of 4 years and this can be renewed.
