Public Hearts Cheltenham Defibrillator Campaign is delighted to support Marketing Cheltenham and iX – The Information Exchange.
The High Street’s latest innovative addition welcomes a public access defibrillator to its suite of public services to benefit the local community, generously donated by Spirax-Sarco. This marks Spirax’s 10th donated automated external defibrillator (AED) for the Cheltenham community. The external cabinet is also generously donated, by Chun Kong of The Mayflower. This defibrillator links the other AEDs along the High Street, from Stay Lets at one end to Bob Holt OBE’s donated defibrillator at CCP.
All of these defibrillators are registered on The Circuit – the national defibrillator network to facilitate prompt location and access in the event of a cardiac arrest. So far this year, Public Hearts defibrillators have been called on in Cheltenham town centre 9 times.
Public Hearts Founder, Clare says “Placing these defibrillators in key and high footfall locations aims to increase the chances of survival, which are currently less than 10% for out of hospital cardiac arrests. It’s great to see Cheltenham companies and organisations collaborating together to put these lifesaving devices in public places.”
Public Hearts is a collaboration with GWAAC, Cheltenham BID, MJF Electrical – pro-bono installers, Evans Jones – pro bono planning guidance, Tidal Training Ltd and the local community. To find out more, call 01242 371 999.
