University of Gloucestershire’s commitment to delivering an enhanced learning experience has been highlighted by the Complete University Guide 2025.
The league table is based on 10 measures including entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, spending on academic services and facilities, student-staff ratio and graduate prospects. It includes 130 institutions from across the UK.
Moving up seven places nationally, University of Gloucestershire’s latest league table position sees it ranked ninth in the South West, as well as being the region’s highest climber. This bucks a trend where the majority of regional providers have either been non-movers or have fallen in the ratings.
The improved ranking underlines the progress the University is making in delivering an enhanced experience for students.
In 2023, for the first time ever, it appeared in the QS World University Rankings and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
Closer to home, it was in the UK’s top 20 for career prospects in the WhatUni Student Choice Survey 2023, and was rated TEF Silver, an accolade confirming that the University delivers high-quality teaching and exceeds the national quality control for learning.
At the same time, the University is transforming its facilities.
In 2025, it will be opening a new campus in the heart of Gloucester. Located in the former Debenhams building, this site will become home to nearly 4,000 students when complete. It will offer cutting-edge facilities, including a large simulation space, an immersive Virtual Reality room, an electroencephalogram (EEG) lab and subject specific spaces for teacher training.
The University is rapidly expanding its cyber facilities and connections, forging ahead with new facilities at its Park Campus in Cheltenham. Funded by a £5.8million grant from the Office for Students (OfS), new cyber and computing facilities and equipment at Park Campus are being developed in consultation with CyNam, Hub8 and Plexal.
For creative courses, from 2025, more programmes will be collocated at Park Campus to build a vibrant creative hub, bustling with ideas, inventiveness and collaboration opportunities.
